The sakura (cherry blossom) trees along Kamurozaka are extremely beautiful, and have been selected as one of the "100 Shinagawa sights". [To celebrate their beauty] We have decided to hold a "Cherry Blossom Festival" when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, where we will close off Kamurozaka in order to allow attendees from the area to walk amongst the sakura.

We hope that, through holding this festival, local attendees feel a sense of familiarity with, and a renewed admiration for the Kamurozaka sakura. We also hope this festival will facilitate an atmosphere where local visitors can get together and interact. In addition, we hope to utilize Sakura Festivals in other locales to revitalize other communities in the future.
